Port status LEDs

The following table provides LED port information. If an HP AdvanceStack

8U/16U SNMP module is installed, additional LED states may be observed.

For information about the hub LEDs when an HP AdvanceStack 8U/16U

SNMP Module is installed, see the manual accompanying the module.

LED State Meaning of LED

AUI/Xcvr

Port (green)

On An optional HP Transceiver Module is properly installed in the hub’s

front panel slot.

Off An HP Transceiver Module is not installed.

Slow

Flash*

The HP Transceiver Module port has auto-partitioned. See

“Auto-Partitioning” later in this chapter.

Twisted-pair

Port (green)

On Link beat is detected from the attached node.

Off The port is not receiving the link beat signal from the attached node.

Slow

Flash*

The port has been auto-partitioned. See “Auto-Partitioning” later in

this chapter.

* The slow flash is approximately once every 1.5 seconds.

AUI/Xcvr Slot

The AUI/Xcvr Slot is used to add an HP Transceiver Module. For more

information, see the “Install Add-in Modules” section in chapter 1.

Back of the hub

The management slot is used to add an HP AdvanceStack 8U/16U SNMP

Module. For more information, see the “Install Add-in Modules” section in

chapter 1.
