4 Deploying Hyper-V to ProLiant servers

Hardware configuration

If any special hardware configuration is needed beyond the defaults, for example a custom RAID

level, use the appropriate tool such as the Option ROM configuration or an STK utility.

Hyper-V host deployment

Deploying a Hyper-V host to a bare-metal ProLiant server follows the standard SCVMM methodology

– create a host/physical computer profile and use the Add Resources: Hyper-V Hosts and Clusters

wizard to discover and deploy.

IMPORTANT:

• On the Credentials and protocol screen, specify a Run As account that has valid iLO

administrator credentials and set Protocol to Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI).

• Select a host profile that filters drivers matching a tag instead of PnP IDs. Using PnP IDs may

result in a blue screen.
