EVA3000 HSV100 controllers
The HSV10 0 controllers serve as the interface between the storage system hardware and the SAN. All host
I/Os and all Command View EVA management commands are processed by the controllers. Up to four
drive encl
osures are supported by each HSV100 controller pair. Figure 8 shows the HSV100 controller.
Two high-p
erformance HSV100 controllers are included in each EVA3000 storage system. Each controller
is instal
led in a separate enclosure and provides the following features:
• High-performance, PowerPC m icroprocessor
• An Op erator Control Panel (OCP) for easy operation
• 3U cabin
et space required for both controller enclosures
• Two 2-Gbps, FC -Switch Fabric host por ts
• Two 2-Gbps, FC-AL device ports
•Arrang
ed as a single redundant pair
• Data load/performance is balanced across a pair
• Suppor t for up to 56 disks
• 1-GB ca
che per controller , mirrored, with battery backup
• 2-Gbps, FC cache mirroring por t with device port backups
