Running back-end LU diagnostics
NOTE:
The use of this process allows the SVSP administrator to access the contents of back-end LUs, and
therefore the data within those back-end LUs.
VSM enables you to send certain SCSI commands to a back-end LU and view the results returned by
the back-end LU.
To run diagnostics on a back-end LU:
1. Right-click the back-end LU.
2. Select Run Diagnostics. VSM sends a Read Sector command to sector 0 (zero) on the back-end
LU and retrieves the back-end LU’s response. The Back-End LU Diagnostic dialog box opens,
displaying the back-end LU’s response in the Read Sector tab.
