11 Disconnect the Ethernet cable from your HP PSC and computer or wireless

access point.

12 Click Next.

The Installer status screen appears as Setup installs the software. This might

take several minutes.

13 At the prompt, restart your computer to finish the installation process.

14 After your computer is restarted, complete the Fax Setup Wizard and

product registration.

Fax setup is described in fax setup on page 175.

install your hp psc software on a Windows computer (ad-hoc mode)

To install your HP PSC software and configure the device on your ad-hoc wireless

network you must have a wireless network adapter.

Do not connect the HP PSC to your computer.

Note: Before installing your HP PSC software, see connect your hp psc to a

wireless network or computer on page 147.

1 Quit all applications.

2 If your computer is connected to the Internet, disable the connection to your

computer by removing the Ethernet cable that connects the modem (cable,

DSL, or dial-up) to your computer.

3 Disable your Ethernet network interface card (NIC).

4 Press Setup on the front panel.

The Setup Menu appears on the color graphics display.

5 Press 6.

The Network menu appears on the color graphics display.

6 Press 2.

The wireless radio setting options appear on the color graphics display.

Note: The default setting for the wireless radio is Off.

7 Use the and buttons to select On.

8 Press OK.

9 Open the configuration utility for your wireless network adapter.

Unplug the network cable that is plugged into your device.

Unplug the network cable

Disconnect the network cable to use the printer’s wireless capabilities.

The network cable that is connecting the printer to the network must be

disconnected to complete installation.

After the network cable is unplugged, click ‘Next’ to continue.
