Working with Tasks
Controller Tasks
TaskId Function Done% Container State Specific1 Specific2
------ -------- ------- --------- ----- --------- ---------
No tasks currently running on controller
To start a task, use the container create mirror command, as
in the following example. In the example, the container create
mirror command starts a mirror set create (MCR) task and a
container scrub (MSC) task.
HPN0> container create mirror 0 (3,0.0)
Executing: container create mirror 0 (CHANNEL=3, ID=1,LUN=0)
After executing the container create mirror command, use
the task list command to verify that the task is running, as in the
following example. In the example, the Function column indicates
Scrub, which means that the container scrub task is executing while
the mirror set is being created.
HPN0> task list
Executing: task list
Controller Tasks
TaskId Function Done% Container State Specific1 Specific2
------ -------- ------- --------- ----- --------- ---------
108 Scrub 46.0% 00 RUN 00000000 00000000
Stopping Tasks
The CLI’s task stop command allows you to terminate one or all
tasks that are running on a controller.
This section provides an example that describes how to stop a task
running on a controller.
Before stopping a task, use the task list command to display
information about all tasks running on a controller, as in the
following example. In the example the Ta s k I D column indicates 106,
which means that task 106 is running on a controller, and the
Done% column indicates 63.5%, which means that the task is 63.5%
complete.
