3. Creating an HDLM Environment
305
checked in step 9, change the HDLM device names on the DEVICE line to the
SCSI device names.
Before the correction:
DEVICE /dev/sddlmaa1 /dev/sddlmab1
After the correction:
DEVICE /dev/sdh1 /dev/sdi1
When you edit the DEVICE line, change only the device names. Do not change the
partition numbers.
11. If necessary, change the disk partition type of the SCSI devices back to
fd.
When you change the disk partition type to
fd, the md device is automatically
activated when the host restarts, even if the
/etc/mdadm.conf file does not
exist.
The following example shows how to execute the
fdisk command to change the
disk partition type to
fd:
# fdisk /dev/sddlmaa
Command (m for help): p
Disk /dev/sddlmaa: 5368 MB, 5368709120 bytes
166 heads, 62 sectors/track, 1018 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 10292 * 512 = 5269504 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sddlmaa1 1 1018 5238597 83 Linux
Command (m for help): t
Selected partition 1
Hex code (type L to list codes): fd
Changed system type of partition 1 to fd (Linux raid
autodetect)
Command (m for help): p
Disk /dev/sddlmaa: 5368 MB, 5368709120 bytes
