4.7.4 Viewing information in the /proc file system
The following information is gathered and stored in the /proc file system:
• SCSI disk statistics — /proc/scsi/sd_iostats
• Read size distribution
• Write size distribution
• CCISS disk statistics — /proc/driver/cciss/cciss_iostats/
• Read size distribution
• Write size distribution
• Time distribution of read and write I/O requests
• OST block statistics — /proc/fs/lustre/obdfilter/
• Read size distribution
• Write size distribution
Note the following points:
• Information about disks on EVA4000 arrays is stored in the /proc/scsi/sd_iostats directory.
• Information about disks on SFS20 storage arrays is stored in the /proc/driver/cciss/
cciss_iostats/ directory
• Information about the local disk on each HP SFS server (usually named c0d0) is stored in the
/proc/driver/cciss/cciss_iostats/ directory. This information is not relevant to the
performance of the file systems.
